| History | Shinpa was composed by Kenwa Mabuni in the early to mid-20th century. Similar to some Kyokushin kata, it was originally incomplete and said to be inspired by Uechi-ryū. It was completed by Mabuni’s son, Mabuni Kenei. The name suggests the dynamic interplay of intention and physical execution. |
